KARACHI: At least 80 Indian fishermen would leave Pakistan on Thursday for their homeland after completing their jail sentence at Malir Jail in Karachi, Bol News reported.

The fishermen have been boarded on Allama Iqbal Express to transfer them to Wagah Border, Lahore. The Edhi officials said they would bear all the travel expenses of the fishermen.

Edhi Foundation would give the fishermen money, clothes and other necessary goods.

On November 10, Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) had arrested six Indian fishermen and also confiscated the boat for violating its territorial waters for illegal fishing.

The Pakistan Maritime Security Agency had taken action against the Indian fishing boat in the open sea.

The spokesperson of the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency had said that the Indian boat which was illegally fishing in the waters of Pakistan had been taken into custody.

The spokesman had further said that the Indian boat “Krupa” was illegally fishing in Pakistan’s sea in violation of maritime law.
