MULTAN: President Istehkam-E-Pakistan Party Abdul Aleem Khan and Patron-in-Chief IPP Jehangir Tareen on Monday called on celebrated Islamic scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil at his residence in Tulamba to mourn death of Tariq Jamil’s younger son Asim Jamil, Bol News reported.

Jehangir Tareen said there could not be a bigger sorrow for a person than death of a young son. Abdul Aleem prayed may Allah grant the deceased’s family courage to bear the loss.

They prayed for maghfirat of Asim Jamil and offered Fatiha. Additional Secretary General IPP Aoun Chaudhry was also present on the occasion.

On October 30, President Dr Arif Alvi had expressed deep grief and sorrow over the sudden death of Asim Jamil, son of renowned religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil.

In a statement, Arif Alvi had prayed that may Allah Almighty grant the deceased a place in Jannah.

The president, expressing solidarity with the bereaved families, had also prayed that may Almighty Allah grant patience to them to bear this loss.

Elder brother of Asim Jamil, Yousaf Jamil had said that his brother had been suffering from depression since his childhood and the condition had exacerbated in recent months. He had said that unfortunately his brother was alone at home at the time of incident. He had said Asim Jamil took gun from the security guard and shot himself.

DPO Khanewal Rana Umar Farooq Salamat had confirmed that Asim Jamil was shot dead, saying he got a bullet in his chest. “Nephew of Tariq Jamil has claimed that Asim Jameel shot himself,” Salamat had added.

Meanwhile, police had also initiated an investigation of the incident, he had added.
