Bank statement requirements for Schengen visa application to France from Pakistan
If you’re a Pakistani citizen with dreams of exploring the picturesque landscapes and rich culture of France, securing a short-term Schengen visa is your gateway to the European country. Here’s a breakdown of the essential information you need for a seamless visa application process.
Visa Application Process: All visa applications from Pakistan are meticulously reviewed by the French Embassy in Islamabad, the sole authority for visa decisions. To ensure a hassle-free journey, it’s recommended to apply well in advance as obtaining a short-stay visa takes a minimum of 15 to 20 days after the embassy interview.
Required Documents: For a successful France visit visa application, prepare the following documents:
- Travel Document/Passport: Ensure your passport, issued within the last 10 years, has at least two blank pages. Its validity should extend at least three months beyond your intended departure from the Schengen Area.
- Trip Confirmation: Provide evidence of an organized trip or any document outlining your planned program.
- Return Ticket: Submit a reservation for a return ticket or your travel itinerary.
- Proof of Professional Situation: Include documents such as an employment contract, work certificate specifying the trip’s duration, dates, and purpose, or any documents showcasing personal links in your country of residence.
- Financial Documents: Furnish the last 6 months’ bank statements, the last 3 months’ salary slips, pension certificates, and tax returns for the preceding 2 years.
- Accommodation Proof: Depending on your arrangements, provide proof of accommodation – be it a private individual’s residence, hotel reservation, or lease agreement.
- Travel Health Insurance: Obtain a valid travel health insurance certificate covering all Schengen States. Refer to the list of approved insurance companies on the French Embassy’s website https://pk.ambafrance.org/Nouvel-article.
Application Fee: Applicants are required to pay a fee of 80 euros for their visit visa application.
Minimum Bank Statement Requirement: The minimum daily required amount to cover your stay in France varies based on your accommodation:
- France: EUR 65 (staying with friends/family or in a hotel), EUR 120 (partial hotel reservation), or EUR 120 (no accommodation arrangements).
As of November 21, 2023, with one euro equal to Rs310, you’ll need approximately Rs1,116,000 in your bank account for a 30-day stay in France with hotel accommodation.
