The interim government has established an inquiry commission to execute the Supreme Court’s decision on the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan’s Faizabad sit-in case.

The notification regarding the commission’s formation has been officially issued, with retired Inspector General (IG) Akhtar Ali Shah appointed as its chairman.

The federal government, through a gazette notification, has outlined the Terms of Reference (TOR) for the inquiry commission, specifying that it must submit its report within two months of its establishment.

Notably, the Supreme Court rejected the government’s fact-finding committee, previously constituted to ensure compliance with its verdict on the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan’s 2017 sit-in at Faizabad, on November 1.
