The District and Sessions Court in Islamabad on Saturday sent PTI leader Asad Qaiser to Adiala Jail on judicial remand.

This decision was made by Judicial Magistrate Qudratullah.

The arrest of Asad Qaiser by Islamabad police has raised questions regarding the authority to detain someone in this case.

Shoaib Shaheen, representing Qaiser stated that the arrest of PTI leader was made right after the elections were announced; mentioning that Asad Qaiser is being targeted for political reasons.

Shaheen also highlighted that if the anti-corruption department had sought assistance from Islamabad police, the situation might have been different.

However, the court ordered that Asad Qaiser be kept in judicial lock-up and was handed over to the Islamabad Police.

The court has further emphasized that the anti-corruption police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should proceed with the legal action regarding Asad Qaiser and complete the necessary steps within a week.
