Utility stores can buy confiscated essential items at half price: Pakistan Customs

Pakistan Customs has given utility stores the first opportunity to purchase confiscated essential items at half price.

Pakistan Customs issued Customs General Order in this regard.

This decision allows utility stores to acquire confiscated goods at a rate of 50% of the fixed price, ensuring affordability and accessibility of essential items for the general public.

However, if utility stores do not express interest in buying these confiscated items, they will be subjected to auction.

The initial phase of this new approach will involve supplying the seized sugar to the utility store, addressing the pressing need for this essential commodity.

This move comes as Pakistan Customs has conducted anti-smuggling operations resulting in the seizure of sugar valued at over two billion rupees.
