Fee structure for new E-Passports in Sindh – December 2023
The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports (DGI&P) has unveiled a pioneering service, introducing electronic passports (e-passports) for citizens nationwide.
The e-Passport is a cutting-edge travel document equipped with an electronic chip embedded on one of its pages. This chip serves as a secure repository for the passport holder’s biometric information, enhancing identity verification.
The stored data includes biometrics, personal details from the passport’s data page, a unique identification number, and a digital signature. Notably, the e-Passport’s contactless (NFC) chip enables electronic reading, aligning with the stringent standards set by the United Nations’ International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
For Sindh residents, the standard fee for a new e-passport with 36 pages and a five-year validity is set at Rs 9,000. Similarly, the regular fee for a 36-page e-passport with a ten-year validity period stands at Rs 13,000.
Opting for a 72-page e-Passport with a five-year validity incurs a fee of Rs15,000, while the ten-year validity for the same page count is priced at Rs24,000.
This standardized fee structure is applicable across all provinces in Pakistan. The introduction of these e-passports marks a significant stride towards enhanced security and global compliance, ensuring a more efficient and secure travel documentation process for citizens.
