The Finance Division announced releasing Rs17.4 billion to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for the forthcoming general elections.

This disbursement supplements the Rs10 billion released in July 2023, bringing the total funds allocated for the elections to Rs27.4 billion.

The Finance Ministry reiterated its dedication to providing funds as needed by the Election Commission of Pakistan.

Yesterday, the Secretary of Finance Imdad Ullah Bosal has assured the Election Commission of Pakistan of disbursing the election funds in two days.

The action came after the ECP had summoned Secretary of Finance over the non-provision of funds required for the upcoming general elections.
