Karachi: The People’s Bus Service is scheduled to expand its fleet with the addition of 30 buses, delivering much-needed relief to Karachi commuters.

The Caretaker Chief Minister, Justice (R) Maqbool Baqir, played a pivotal role in securing funds from the Accountant General, Sindh, for this expansion. Following the fund release, the transport department is now focused on addressing customs duties, as instructed by the Sindh Chief Minister.

Emphasizing prompt payments, CM Baqir urged the transport department to ensure the buses are released from the port within a week. Stressing the urgency, he stated, “The buses ordered from China should be brought on the roads as soon as possible.”

Furthermore, plans are underway to seek federal approval for the BRT Red Line Corridor, demonstrating a positive step towards enhancing public transit in Karachi.
