KARACHI: All small and big industries of Karachi will remain closed on Monday (today), Bol News reported.

Today export units will also remain closed due to protest over gas prices. “There will be a strike today for not fulfilling the promise of abnormal increase in gas prices and reduction in excess electricity consumption rates,” the industrialists said.

Strike banners were put up in all industrial zones across the megalopolis. Downsizing has started in the factories.

Factory owners were not getting new orders, said an industrialist Javed Balwani.

The main protest on behalf of Karachi Chamber and SITE Association will be held at 12 o’clock, said SITE Association.

Korangi, Landhi, North Karachi, Bin Qasim, Federal B area will protest and businesses will remain closed in all associations, they said. They will first strike for one day and then announce the next phase, the Industrialists said.
