The 52nd martyrdom of Major Shabbir Sharif, who struck terror at the enemy, is being observed today, Bol News reported.

The brave martyred army officer is the only person who was awarded the Nishan e Haider and Sitara-e-Jurat awards.

Major Shabbir Sharif Shaheed was born on April 28, 1947, in the town of Kunjah in Gujrat. He joined the Pakistan Army in 1964 at the age of 21. He was the elder brother of former Army Chief General Raheel Sharif and the nephew of Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Nishan-e-Haider.

Major Shabir Sharif Shaheed participated in the war of 1965 as a second lieutenant and bravely fought the enemy, for which he was awarded the Sitara-e-Jurat. Additionally, the same courage came in handy in the Indo-Pak War of 1971.

The Six FF regiment, under the command of Major Shabir Sharif, crushed the enemy’s at Head Sulemanki.

On December 6, 1971, he was martyred and was buried in Miani Sahib Cemetery, Lahore.

Previously,The 51st Shahadat anniversary of Major Shabbir Sharif Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider was observed on Tuesday at Lahore.

According to the Inter Serveries Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Malik Amir Muhammad Khan, General Officer Commanding, laid a floral wreath at Major Shabbir Sharif Shaheed’s mausoleum.
