It should be remembered that even before the federal government’s announcement, a large number of illegal Afghans continued to return to Afghanistan from Pakistan for fear of arrest; however, according to official data, a total of 444,938 Afghans have returned to their country as of December 22.

It should be noted that there were a large number of people living illegally in other cities, including Karachi, due to which smuggling and extortion were very common. However, the satisfactory thing is that with the joint efforts of the government of Pakistan and the military leadership, the illegal immigrants were removed from the country. Moreover, the evacuation of illegal persons is in progress.

Earlier, the federal government has given a deadline of October 31 to illegal immigrants from across the country to leave Pakistan, after which a large number of Afghan migrants have started leaving Pakistan from the Sohrab Goth Afghan settlement in Karachi.

In this regard, a large number of diasporas are settled in various areas of Pakistan. However, illegal diasporas have been found involved in crimes like terrorism, occupation, drug and arm smuggling.

The illegal migrants have requested that the government give them more time to leave the country.
