KARACHI: The Oil & Gas Development Company (OGDCL) spokesperson on Friday said new reserves of oil and gas were discovered in Sindh, Bol News reported.

2,081 meters of Dars West Well No. 2 was drilled and discovered that 8.51 million (85 lakh) standard cubic feet per day gas will be obtained from the well, the OGDCL spokesperson said.

360 barrels of crude oil per day were also discovered from the well, the spokesperson said. He said the new discovery will significantly reduce the country’s import bill. The above discovery came about as a result of an aggressive strategy by OGDCL experts, he said.

The spokesperson said the new discovery will significantly increase the reserves of OGDCL and domestic oil and gas.
