PMLN faces challenge as fight intensifies for successors among several leaders

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is grappling with internal challenges as the party sees an intensification of the struggle for successors among several leaders, turning it more into a family-centric entity than a political one.

Key figures such as Ahsan Iqbal, Hanif Abbasi, Chaudhry Tanveer, Rana Sanaullah, and Saiful Mulok Khokhar are reportedly actively vying for party tickets for their sons and daughters, sparking discontent among other party members aspiring for the same.

This surge in the push to usher in the next generation has led to dissatisfaction among party members in various areas, especially for those who have not received final assurances regarding the allocation of tickets for their relatives.

Party sources indicate that there is displeasure over nominations primarily coming from specific families rather than considering deserving women workers for certain seats.

Some leaders expressed frustration over not securing tickets for their relatives and are determined not to allow family politics to overshadow the party’s principles.

In response to these internal tensions, the PML-N’s top leadership has taken notice of the matter and is reportedly considering forming committees to address and resolve ticket disputes within the families of party leaders.

The outcome of this internal struggle may impact the party’s dynamics as it navigates the delicate balance between political principles and family affiliations.
