PTI intra-party elections challenged

The Election Commission of Pakistan is now faced with a petition challenging the PTI intra-party elections.

The petition has been filed by Raja Tahir Nawaz, a resident of Islamabad and a member of PTI, through Advocate Azizuddin Kakakhel.

In the petition, it is alleged that the PTI intra-party elections were not conducted in accordance with the party constitution.

The petitioner claims that the elections were carried out by establishing a dummy panel, raising concerns about the transparency and fairness of the electoral process.

The petition further contends that the responsibility for conducting PTI intra-party elections lies with the Secretary General of PTI.

As a remedy, the petitioner requests the annulment of the intra-party elections and urges the Election Commission to direct the Party Secretary General to organize re-elections.
