LAHORE: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Tuesday issued orders instructing relevant authorities to confiscate the properties of ‘absconding’ Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, which include Hammad Azhar and Murad Saeed, in cases related to the May 9 riots, marking the day when PTI founder Imran Khan was arrested.

The order for the seizure of PTI leaders’ properties was given by ATC Judge Muhammad Naveed in response to a petition filed by the Lahore police.

The court specifically directed the confiscation of properties belonging to Mian Aslam Iqbal, Hammad Azhar, Murad Saeed, Azam Swati, Hafiz Farhat, and Ali Amin Gandapur.

In a related development, on Sunday, PTI leader Hammad Azhar asserted that the police had ‘arrested’ his 82-year-old father, Mian Azhar, in Lahore. Prior to January 24, in connection with the Jinnah House case, Lahore Police had conducted a raid with the intention of apprehending Hammad Azhar.

However, the suspect, who was providing refuge to Hammad Azhar, succeeded in facilitating his escape.
