Islamabad Weather Update: Prediction of Additional Rain, Snowfall

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) anticipates more rain coupled with snowfall in mountainous regions of Islamabad and various parts of the country in the next two days.

A westerly wave is influencing the western and upper areas of Pakistan and is expected to persist in the upper regions during the upcoming days.

Consequently, rain and snowfall are foreseen in Gilgit-Baltistan, Upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the Pothohar region, Islamabad, Kashmir, and surrounding hilly areas on Tuesday evening and night, Wednesday, and Thursday.

This weather pattern might impact transportation due to snowfall in the upper regions on Tuesday evening/night and Wednesday.

Tourists are advised to exercise caution during this period. Shallow to moderate fog is expected in certain plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh.

Islamabad is projected to experience minimum temperatures between 07–09 degrees Celsius on Wednesday and 08–10 degrees Celsius on Thursday. In the past 24 hours, predominantly cold and partly cloudy weather has been observed across the country.

Rainfall occurred in Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Pothohar region, and Gilgit-Baltistan, while fog and smog prevailed in plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh.

Notable cold temperatures were recorded in Kalam, dropping to 7 degrees Celsius below freezing. In Islamabad, the minimum temperature registered was 07 degrees Celsius, with a relative humidity of 93 percent in the morning.
