In Lahore, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Usman Anwar has dismissed reports of shutting down educational institutions due to security concerns.

The head of Punjab Police clearly mentioned that there is no security threat, and no instructions have been given to close schools, colleges, and universities.

The IGP Punjab declared it as false information, urging citizens not to believe it. He also pledged to take action against those responsible for spreading such misinformation.

The IGP’s response followed the circulation of an unverified notification on social media, falsely asserting the closure of all public and private educational institutions in Lahore and other cities for four days (Jan 25-28) due to security concerns.

The widely circulated notification claimed the closure of all schools, colleges, and universities throughout the province from January 25 to 28, citing security threats.
