Murree issued warning of intense snowfall

Following intermittent rainfall, hailstorms, and the season’s first snowfall in Murree on Monday, the district administration has issued a crucial advisory for tourists.

Travelers are urged to prepare for fluctuating temperatures in Murree, with the Meteorological Department warning of substantial snowfall in the next 36 to 72 hours in the upper regions, including Murree.

To ensure safety, the district administration has set up thirteen facilitation centers across Murree, as announced by the Deputy Commissioner.

Additionally, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts more rain and snowfall in various KPK districts such as Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Abbottabad, Balakot, Mansehra, and Peshawar.

Kashmir is also expected to experience heavy downpours and snowfall, as forecasted by the Met Department.

The Tourism Authority spokesperson, Muhammad Saad, has officially declared the commencement of winter tourism in the upper regions.

Tourists are advised to use vehicles suitable for snowy conditions when traveling to areas prone to snowfall, emphasizing safety precautions during winter travel.
