Starting from February 1, 2024, Pakistan is expected to see an increase in petrol and diesel prices for the next two weeks.

This rise is attributed to changes in global oil prices, with an estimated Rs. 9.00 per litre increase.

International oil market’s upward trend and higher import premiums contribute to this, while the Pakistani Rupee (PKR) remains steady against the US Dollar (USD).

It’s important to note that if the caretaker government decides to raise petroleum product prices, it would be the first increase following a series of reductions in the past few fortnights. The final decision on petrol and diesel prices will be announced tomorrow, January 31.
