The winter adjustments in school schedules have been implemented by the School Education Department in response to the prevailing severe weather conditions.

The Punjab government’s directive to suspend both private and government schools until January 31 is a precautionary measure.

The decision to delay the school opening until 9:30 AM until the end of January is particularly aimed at addressing the challenges posed by smog and extreme cold in the region.

Starting February 1, schools will resume regular schedules. The extension of winter vacations from December 18 to January 9 underscores the seriousness of the weather conditions.

By adapting the working hours, authorities seek to strike a balance between educational continuity and the safety of students during this period of challenging weather, acknowledging the need for flexibility in the face of unforeseen environmental factors.
