Astronomers are expecting a major shift in the patterns of Ramadan, predicting the beginning of fasting in Pakistan on March 11.

This change is considered part of a larger trend, representing a departure from the norm as Ramadan is expected to coincide with colder months, a phenomenon not observed in the past 26 years.

According to astronomical calculations, Ramadan is expected to begin on March 11, a date determined by the sighting of the crescent moon. However, the official announcement depends on the central moon sighting committee.

This change in timing will provide a unique experience for Muslims worldwide as they welcome the sacred month in the cooler temperatures of March. Astronomers suggest this marks the start of a trend, with Ramadan consistently falling in the winter months from 2024.

Interestingly, in the first two years of this shift, the end of Ramadan will align with the beginning of spring. The subsequent change in 2031 will bring Ramadan back to the winter season, followed by rotations into autumn until 2039.

These calculations are not limited to Pakistan but also apply to Saudi Arabia and Gulf countries, where experts anticipate the first day of fasting on March 11. This celestial alignment adds a special aspect to the spiritual observance of Ramadan, creating anticipation for a cooler and more reflective fasting period for millions.
