ISLAMABAD: Bushra Bibi has securely been shifted to Bani Gala as the government has declared Imran Khan’s residence as a sub-jail following a 14-year prison sentence in the Toshakhana reference by the accountability court.

A formal notification has been issued to declare Bani Gala as a sub-jail specifically for former first lady Bushra Bibi, and prison staff has been stationed in Bani Gala accordingly.

Earlier today, Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi received a 14-year jail term from Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir in connection with the Toshakhana case.

Similarly, following her conviction in the Toshakhana reference, Bushra Bibi has been relocated to Bani Gala, which is now officially categorized as a sub-jail. The presence of prison staff in Bani Gala reinforces the security measures surrounding Bushra Bibi’s confinement.

Earlier, after the court’s verdict, Bushra Bibi was arrested and taken into custody by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) team at Adiala Jail. The Accountability Court judge, Muhammad Bashir, not only sentenced Imran Khan to a 10-year disqualification from holding public office but also imposed a substantial fine of Rs 1.573 billion on both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi.
