LAHORE: Following disappointing results in the February 8 general elections, both the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) and the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) have faced setbacks, leading to resignations from their respective party offices.

Jahangir Tareen, the Patron-in-Chief of IPP, and Sirajul Haq, the Emir of JI, have announced their resignations on Monday in response to their parties’ poor electoral performance.

Jahangir Tareen, once a close aide of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, expressed gratitude to his supporters and opponents alike in a post on his official platform.
