Heavy rainfall expected in Karachi from Feb 29

According to Pakistan’s Meteorological Department, Sindh, including Karachi, is expected to experience strong winds, thunderstorms, and rainfall on Thursday and Friday (February 29 and March 1). Karachi is forecasted to receive rainfall on Friday, March 1.

Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz has stated that Karachi can expect moderate to heavy rainfall throughout March 1, extending into late night hours. Additionally, temperatures in the city are projected to decrease over the following three to four days starting from March 1.

Earlier this week, Karachi encountered strong winds reaching speeds of 40km per hour, attributed to Siberian winds, resulting in a drop in minimum temperatures to 16 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Department has also predicted heavy rainfall across most regions of Pakistan in the next two days, with some areas likely to experience hailstorms.

Meanwhile, Balochistan, particularly the coastal city of Gwadar, has already witnessed heavy rainfall, leading to inundation in several parts of the city.
