More rain, snowfall likely in tourist points in Pakistan

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts that Rains and snowfall are expected in Murree, Galyat and other tourist destinations in Pakistan on Sunday night, Monday and Tuesday.

According to the synoptic situation, a westerly conquers over the western and upper parts of Pakistan. It will strengthen during the next 12 hours.

Under these situations, cloudy weather with rain wind-thunderstorm/snow is expected in Murree, Galyat and other tourist destinations in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday night, Monday and Tuesday.

Moderate heavy rain with snowfall over hills is likely in Kashmir, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Murree and Galyat.

Heavy rain/snowfall may cause the closure of roads in Murree, Galyat, Naran, Kaghan, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Shangla, Astore, Hunza, Skardu, Neelum Valley, Bagh, Poonch and Havellian from Sunday to Tuesday.

The possibility of landslides in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galyat, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan cannot be ruled out during the forecast period.

Murree’s lowest temperatures will likely endure between -01-01 degrees Celsius on Monday and 00-02 C on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, rain and snowfall arisen in Murree, Galyat and other tourist spots in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during the last 24 hours.

Punjab: Murree 13

Gilgit Baltistan: Astore 02, Gupis 01

Snowfall (inches): Malam Jabba 04, Kalam, Kotli 0.5

Gupis remained the coldest place in the country where mercury dropped 04 C below freezing.

In Murree, the minimum temperature was recorded to the freezing point. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 83 percent.
