Peshawar High Court (PHC) has ordered the removal of Asad Qaiser’s name from the exit control list (ECL)..

While completing the hearing on the petition filed against the inclusion of former Speaker Asad Qaiser’s name in the ECL, the bench comprising Justice Shakeel Ahmed and Justice Sahibzada Asadullah ordered the removal of Asad Qaiser’s name from the exit control list.

Moreover, the court on June 23, 2023, declared the order to include Asad Qaiser’s name in the ECL as unconstitutional and illegal.

In the case, Qaiser’s lawyer, Muazzam Butt, and Arshad Ali Advocate appeared in the court, the lawyer petitioner, Moazzam Butt Advocate, said that Asad Qaiser, the former speaker of the National Assembly, was going to pay Umrah and was stopped.

Justice Asadullah inquired, When was the name of Asad Qaiser included in the ECL? His name was put on the ECL on June 23, the lawyer said.

Justice Shakeel Ahmed inquired whether he has now been elected as a member of the National Assembly. The lawyer said that he is a member of the National Assembly and a senior politician.
