PML-N agrees on Shuja-ur-Rehman as Speaker, Punjab Assembly

Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) has agreed on the name of  Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman for the Speaker Punjab Assembly.

A parliamentary party meeting was held at Jati Umra under the leadership of PML-N chief organizer Maryam Nawaz, in which the newly elected members of the Punjab Assembly participated, while Maryam Nawaz also organized a lunch for the candidates.

In the meeting, independent members, including League members, also participated, while members nominated for specific seats were also included in the meeting, a total of 218 members participated in the meeting.

However, the newly elected members of the Punjab Assembly expressed their desire to make Maryam Nawaz the Chief Minister of Punjab.

On the other hand, the name of  Zaheer Chanhar is being considered for the Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly.

Earlier, Several potential candidates for the position of governor in Punjab have surfaced, indicating an imminent decision regarding the crucial appointment.

The sources reveal that the names of Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood, Qamar Zaman Qaira, and Nadeem Afzal Chan are being considered for the post of Governor of Punjab.

Sources claim that Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood will be the first priority of the party leadership, and he will also be acceptable to the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N).
