PTA cracks down on illegal SIM sales

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) took action against the people involved in the illegal sale of SIMs, action has been started against those who provide such SIMs to people.

In this regard, raids were conducted by PTA Zonal Office Rawalpindi with the support of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

The PTA spokesperson further added that mobile phone franchises were raided in Hasan Abdal, Wah Cantt, and Rawalpindi.

Moreover, 3550 pre-active SIMs and 3 BVS devices were seized during the raid. 748 fake silicone fingerprints, 11,000 digital fingerprints, and a printer were also recovered.

Furthermore, FIA has arrested three accused and registered a case in this regard, while further investigation is underway.
