Islamabad weather: mostly sunny with pleasant conditions

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts partly cloudy weather with light rain and snowfall in mountainous regions of northern Pakistan on Wednesday night and Thursday.

A shallow westerly prevailing over Kashmir and nearby areas contributes to this weather pattern.

Expect light rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and adjacent hilly areas on Wednesday evening/night. Away in the country, cold and dry weather is anticipated.

Thursday may bring light rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall in Kashmir and nearby hilly regions. Most areas will experience cold and dry weather, with freezing temperatures in the northern parts of the country.

In Islamabad, minimum temperatures are forecasted to range between 02-04 degrees Celsius on Thursday and Friday.

Rawalpindi’s minimum temperatures are expected to be between 03-05 degrees Celsius on Thursday and Friday.

During the past 24 hours, cold and dry weather was predominant across the country, with freezing temperatures observed in the northern regions. Isolated rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall occurred in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and northeast Punjab.

Leh remained the coldest place in the country where mercury dropped 13 C below freezing.

In Islamabad, minimum temperature was recorded at 04 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 32 per cent.

In Rawalpindi, minimum temperature was recorded at 05 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 31 percent.
