Lahore: Punjab Assembly Speaker Muhammad Sibtain Khan administered oath to the newly-elected members of the Punjab Assembly (PA) during the 42nd session at the assembly chambers here on Friday, the speaker chaired the session and felicitated the 315 members provincial assembly (MPAs)

The session of the Punjab Assembly was convened at 10 a.m. today, which started with a delay of 2 hours.

The session of the Punjab Assembly was held under the chairmanship of Speaker Sabtain Khan, the newly elected members of the Punjab Assembly took oath in the session, Speaker Sabtain Khan administered the oath to the members.

Members of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N), the Tehreek-e-Insaf-backed Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), and other parties took oaths.

The speaker directed that the people present in the gallery should not raise slogans and make noise, may Allah encourage you to listen to each other with comfort.

The number of members who took oaths in the Punjab Assembly today is 313, members took oath on 313 out of 367 seats in the Punjab Assembly.

 It was told in the meeting that the Speaker of Punjab Assembly and the Deputy Speaker will be elected on Saturday, the time for submission of papers and scrutiny for the Speaker and Deputy Speaker is till 5:20 pm today.

The Speaker of the Punjab Assembly and the Deputy Speaker will be elected by secret ballot on Saturday.
