Tourist entry restricted in Murree due to Heavy Snowfall

The entrance to Murree for tourists has been closed by the Islamabad administration in collaboration with Murree management due to heavy snowfall.

A significant number of tourists have already reached Murree, leading to traffic congestion worsened by power outages and a lack of snow removal equipment.

The Islamabad Deputy Commissioner issued an order to restrict tourist entry to prevent long queues on roads connecting Islamabad and Rawalpindi to Murree. This decision was made in consultation with Murree management.

However, tourists will be allowed once the congestion decreases, and residents can enter by showing their ID cards. Police and district administration officers are stationed at the 17th-mile point, urging people to avoid unnecessary travel to Murree.
