Meta’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram, are experiencing a widespread outage, resulting in thousands of users being unable to access these platforms.

The issues began around 7:45 am PST and are affecting both the mobile apps and websites of these social media sites. As a consequence of the outage, users may find their passwords being rejected, and Facebook is automatically logging out its users.

When attempting to log in, users may encounter error messages indicating expired login sessions, and their login credentials may be rejected.

The outage is impacting various features across the affected platforms, including Instagram, Messenger, and Threads. Users attempting to access the News Feed on Instagram may encounter error messages.

Reports of the outage have been widespread, with Down Detector accumulating over 300,000 reports since the issue was first reported. Similar reports of the outage are flooding other platforms such as Twitter.
