Despite the existing ban on kite flying in the province, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has voiced her worries about the recurring accidents caused by this activity.

During a Law and Order meeting, she emphasized that merely filing a case is not enough; the culprits must be penalized.

The Chief Minister underscored the immediate need for action to enforce the law and commanded the initiation of a campaign to eliminate kite flying across the province. She instructed the Chief Secretary, district administration, and police to ensure the enforcement of the ban on kite flying, and ordered stringent action against those found in violation of the ban.

In addition, she called on law enforcement to take firm measures to decrease the incidence of rape in the province, expressing grave concerns over such occurrences.

“Rape accused should be given an exemplary punishment,” stated CM Maryam. She also directed the relevant department to address and manage cases of domestic violence against women and children.
