The Punjab government, following Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s instructions, is implementing a plan to offer electric and petrol motorbikes on interest-free installments to reduce transportation expenses for students. This initiative supports students and encourages sustainable commuting in the province.

The Punjab government has announced the distribution of 20,000 electric motorcycles to students, aiming to cut down their transportation costs significantly. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif led a meeting to discuss measures for student facilitation, stressing the importance of accessible transportation for education.

Teaming up with the Bank of Punjab, the provincial government has designed a structured plan to distribute motorbikes. The monthly installment for electric bikes will be below Rs5,000, with a down payment of Rs25,000, making it financially viable for students from diverse backgrounds to join the program.
