Rain and snowfall in Pakistan: Tourists flock to scenic valleys

Parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa experienced scattered rainfall over the past 24 hours, with experts predicting intermittent wet weather to continue into Thursday night.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a shallow westerly wave is affecting the upper regions of Pakistan and is expected to persist for the next 24 hours.

Under these conditions, cold and partly cloudy weather is anticipated across most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday night, Friday, and Saturday. Freezing temperatures are expected in the upper districts.

Additionally, light rain, wind, and thunderstorms, along with snowfall in mountainous areas, are forecasted for Dir, Chitral, Kohistan, Shangla, Swat, Buner, Abbottabad, Mansehra, and Kurram on Thursday night.

In Peshawar, minimum temperatures are likely to range between 05-07 degrees Celsius on Friday and Saturday.

Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed in most parts of the province during the last 24 hours. Freezing weather prevailed in upper districts. Rain-thunderstorms with snowfall over the hills occurred in parts of the province.

Snowfall (Inches): Kalam 03, Malamjabba 01 and Hunza 0.5

Kalam remained the coldest place in the province where temperature dropped 07 C below freezing.

In Peshawar, minimum temperature was recorded at 07 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 81 per cent.
