Sindh CM unveils Rs 22bn Ramzan Relief Package for citizens
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has introduced a Ramzan relief package valued at Rs 22 billion to alleviate the financial strain on citizens grappling with inflation in the province.
The package, authorized by CM Shah, allocates Rs5,000 in cash to 60 percent of the province’s population earning the minimum wage.
This financial aid will benefit 3.5 million households with a monthly income of Rs 32,000, with the Sindh Zakat Department disbursing Rs 14,000 to 110,000 to impoverished families.
CM Shah has also directed that there be no power cuts during Sehr and Iftar throughout Sindh.
He has urged electricity providers like K-Electric, Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO), and Sukkur Electric Supply Company (SEPCO) to maintain stable electricity supplies during Ramadan.
Furthermore, CM Shah stressed the need for a crackdown on hoarders and profiteers across the province during a meeting. District administrations were instructed to ensure the enforcement of government-set prices for essential goods.
This comprehensive relief package underscores the government’s commitment to easing the financial burdens faced by citizens during the holy month of Ramadan.
