QUETTA: At least nine passengers were offloaded from a bus going from Quetta to Taftan and later killed after identification.

The rescue sources said that the bodies of the victims were found under a bridge in a mountainous area of Nuskhi.

The armed militants abducted the passengers and killed them after stopping the bus.

The police started the search operation in the Nuskhi area Balochistan. The bodies were moved to a nearby hospital.

Nushki Superintendent of Police (SP) revealed that the nine deceased passengers belonged to Mandani Bahauddin and Gujranwala. The SP further revealed that the all the deceased were labourers.

In another incident, the armed militants opened fire on another vehicle where two passengers were killed while three were injured, stated the police.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Nuskhi reported that more than a dozen armed militants blocked the N-40 National Highway between Quetta, Nushki, and Taftan at a mountainous area known as Sultan Chadhai, which is approximately 1 kilometre from Nushki, on Friday night.

According to the DC, after obstructing the highway, the militants began inspecting the vehicles. They fired at a vehicle that didn’t halt, resulting in the death of a man who was related to a member of the provincial assembly.
