As May 1 approaches, Pakistanis are eager to know if Labor Day will be a holiday this year. Usually, it’s a day off to honor workers’ contributions, but the government hasn’t officially confirmed this year’s holiday yet. People should wait for the announcement.

The Cabinet Division’s 2024 circular includes May 1 as a holiday. All schools will be closed nationwide, and in provinces like Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, both public and private offices will also be shut. The State Bank of Pakistan is likely to declare it a bank holiday too.

Labor Day is celebrated internationally on May 1 to appreciate workers and their rights. If declared a holiday, schools, offices, and banks will be closed to mark this occasion.
