Karachi to receive thundershowers with more rain

On Sunday morning, light rain accompanied by thunderstorms was reported in various parts of Karachi, with further downpour anticipated later in the day. Areas affected by the thundershowers included Mauripur, North Karachi, Gulistane-e-Johar, Saddar, Soldier Bazar, Airport, and Clifton.

To prevent accidents on slippery roads caused by the light rain, the city’s traffic police have been deployed. Motorcyclists have been advised to reduce their speed due to the increased risk of accidents on these slippery roads.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the highest rainfall in the city was recorded in Surjani, measuring 26 millimeters.

Rainfall measurements in other areas included 21.2mm in Nazimabad, 20mm in Gulshan-e-Hadid, 17mm in Faisal Base, 16mm in Masroor Base and Keamari, 15mm in North Karachi and Saadi Town, 14.5mm on University Road, 14.4mm in Orangi Town, 11.9mm in Old Airport, and 1.2mm at Jinnah Terminal.
