The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a forecast predicting rain, wind, thunderstorms, and isolated hailstorms in Lahore and parts of Punjab over the upcoming weekend.
This weather pattern is attributed to a strong westerly wave prevailing over western regions of Pakistan, expected to extend its influence across the country from April 13th to 15th.
On Friday night, areas including Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, and several others may experience rain, wind, and thunderstorms, with isolated hailstorms also anticipated.
This weather system is forecast to continue into Saturday and Sunday, affecting a wider range of areas, including Lahore, Kasur, Faisalabad, Multan, and others. Heavy rainfall and hailstorms may occur at isolated locations during this period.
Lahore’s temperatures are expected to range between 34 and 36 degrees Celsius on Saturday and 32 and 34 degrees Celsius on Sunday, providing some relief from the recent heat.
In contrast, dry weather persisted in the port city and most parts of the province over the past 24 hours, with Bahawalpur recording the highest temperature at 39 C.
Relative humidity levels during the evening were measured at 23% in Bahawalpur and 24% in Lahore.
The PMD advises residents and authorities to stay updated on weather forecasts and take necessary precautions to mitigate any potential risks associated with the predicted weather conditions.
It’s essential for individuals to stay informed and prepared, especially those residing in areas prone to heavy rainfall or hailstorms, to ensure their safety and well-being during the anticipated weather events.
