Solar Eclipse 2024: Start Time, Duration, and Visible Regions
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has announced that the first solar eclipse of 2024 will occur on April 8 and 9.
On April 8, the partial solar eclipse will start at 8:48 PM PST, followed by the total eclipse at 9:38 PM PST, reaching its maximum at 11:17 PM PST.
The total eclipse will conclude at 12:55 AM PST on April 9, and the partial eclipse will end at 1:52 AM PST.
The initial solar eclipse of 2024 can be seen from Western parts of Europe, North America, South America, the Pacific, Atlantic, and the Arctic.
Unfortunately, the solar eclipse won’t be visible in Pakistan.
In Pakistan and India, pregnant women are often advised not to sleep, bathe, cut vegetables, or cut fruits during an eclipse. This advice stems from a belief in certain communities that these activities during an eclipse might lead to birthmarks on their baby.
