Eid al-Adha 2024 expected date in Pakistan
As the Zilqad moon illuminates the sky, the excitement for Eid ul Adha 2024 begins to mount. However, the exact date remains uncertain, awaiting the sighting of the Zilhajj moon, a celestial secret yet to be unveiled.
The MET Office outlines two possible scenarios based on the lunar cycle. If the current month of Zilqad lasts for 29 days, the Zilhajj moon will emerge on June 8, leading to Eidul Adha celebrations on June 17.
Conversely, if Zilqad extends to 30 days, Zilhajj will begin on June 9, postponing Eidul Adha to June 18. The formal announcement will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee upon the sighting of the Zilhajj moon.
Eidul Adha, known as the Feast of Sacrifice, is one of the two significant Eid festivals observed by Muslims worldwide.
It commemorates the unwavering faith of Prophet Ibrahim and his willingness to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God.
Traditionally, this festival is marked by the sacrificial slaughter of animals, with the meat distributed among family members and the less fortunate, symbolizing communal harmony and charity.
The act of sacrifice, spanning over three days of Eid, pays homage to Prophet Ibrahim’s tradition and embodies the enduring spirit of devotion and generosity that defines this auspicious occasion.
