Karachi predicted to face “hottest week of the year” next week
As the country faces intense heat, weather specialist Owais Hyder forecasted that Karachi might experience the “hottest week of the year” next week.
He indicated a potential surge in temperatures in the city, stating, “There is a possibility of an increase in heat intensity in the megalopolis next week.”
Temperatures are expected to hover between 40 to 42 degrees Celsius from Tuesday to Thursday.
With the heatwave in full swing, the public has been urged to remain indoors and maintain hydration to prevent heatstroke.
The city’s scorching temperatures often coincide with power shortages, resulting in prolonged loadshedding, sometimes up to 15 hours daily.
Pakistan’s susceptibility to severe weather patterns, attributed by experts to climate change, is on the rise.
The current heatwave has held Karachi in its clutches for several weeks, with predictions indicating it will continue until the first week of June.
