Karachi, Pakistan’s southern port city, anticipates above-normal temperatures this summer due to global climate change.

Authorities are finalizing the schedule for summer vacations in 2024 amid concerns over prolonged heat waves, which pose health risks to residents. To safeguard students, schools in Karachi and across the country are being closed during peak heat periods.

According to the Met Office, day temperatures are expected to be 03–05 °C above normal from May 8th to 10th, with further increases projected in June, the peak of summer weather. Last year, summer vacations lasted from June 1st to July 31st.

For Summer Vacations 2024 in Karachi, it is anticipated that they will commence on June 1st (Saturday) and conclude on August 1st (Thursday).
