A computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) is a 13-digit unique identification number issued by the NADRA through biometric profiling of all citizens. It is a basic document to use for government services.

NADRA offers ID cards and other documents for precise fees. All citizens must get a basic ID document to show proof of identity, get services, and avail themselves of state-run schemes.

NADRA used to offer simple ID cards back in the day but NADRA has come up with a New Smart National Identity Card that joins advanced technology and clear procedures to ensure its validity and legitimacy.
