The Punjab government has announced revised timings for all public and private colleges, effective from today, May 21, until May 31. The province’s Higher Education Department (HED) issued a notification, citing “severe hot weather” as the reason for the change.

The new college hours are as follows:

Morning Shifts

Monday to Thursday and Saturday: 07:30 am to 11:30 am

Friday: 07:30am to 11am

Evening Shifts

Monday to Saturday: 4 pm to 8 pm

The Punjab government announced the closure of all schools in the province for seven days due to scorching temperatures.

The provincial government has released a notification stating: “In view of surge in temperature and heatwave in the proivince, all public and private schools shall remain closed for seven days with effect from 25th May 2024 to 31st May 2024”.

“However, schools will be allowed to conduct examinations as scheduled with necessary precautions to ensure the safety of students,” it added.
