Sardar Salim Haider takes oath as new Governor of Punjab

LAHORE: Sardar Salim Haider Khan took oath as new Governor of Punjab, here on Friday.

Chief Justice of Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Shehzad Khan administered oath to the new governor at the Governor House.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, former Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman, provincial cabinet members, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Nadeem Afzal Chin, Makhdoom Shahab Uddin, Chaudhry Iftikhar Ahmed Khan and other notables attended the oath-taking ceremony.

Sardar Saleem Haider Khan is the 47th Governor of Punjab. Previously, he held the position of Minister of State for Defence Production and Minister of State for Defence from 2008 to 2011, and from 2012 to 2013, respectively.
