In the Islamic lunar calendar, Eid ul-Adha falls on the 10th of Dhu al-Hijja, the twelfth and final month.

On June 6, the moon will rise at 5:38 PM and sunset will occur at 7:20 PM, with the moon likely being visible for 72 minutes after sunset.

What is Eid ul Adha?

Eid ul Adha, also known as Bakra Eid or the Feast of Sacrifice, is celebrated on the 10th day of Dhul Hijjah, the final month of the Islamic calendar, following Hajj. The celebration lasts for three days, during which Muslims gather in mosques for prayers, usually accompanied by a sermon.

The central event of Eid ul Azha is the sacrificial ritual, or Qurbani, where devout Muslims sacrifice animals such as goats, sheep, cows, or camels to honor the tradition of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.). The meat from the sacrifice is divided into three parts: one for the family, one for relatives and friends, and one for the needy.

This occasion is characterized by joy, generosity, and a strong sense of community, emphasizing values like gratitude, charity, and compassion. It serves as a reminder of selflessness and the importance of making sacrifices for the benefit of others.
