Rains, gusty winds expected in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
More rain, wind, and thunderstorms are expected in Peshawar and various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday night and Thursday. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave is currently affecting the upper and central regions of Pakistan.
Due to these weather conditions, rain, wind, and thunderstorms are anticipated in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Buner, Swabi, Nowshera, Mardan, Peshawar, Kohat, Karak, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Lakki Marwat, Tank, Malakand, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Kurram, Orakzai, and Waziristan on Wednesday night and Thursday. Gusty and dust-raising winds are likely in the southern districts.
In Peshawar, maximum temperatures are expected to range between 36-38°C on Thursday and Friday.
In the past 24 hours, rain, wind, and thunderstorms occurred in Peshawar and isolated areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while hot and dry weather prevailed elsewhere in the province. Rainfall was recorded as follows (in mm): Patan 17, Malam Jabba 15, Saidu Sharif 14, Parachinar and Balakot 09, Kakul and Kalam 08, Takht Bhai 04, Peshawar (Airport, City) 03, Bacha Khan (Airport) 02, Dir (Upper, Lower) 02, Cherat 02, and Bannu 01.
Dera Ismail Khan was the hottest location in the province, with a maximum temperature of 44°C and evening relative humidity at 30 percent. In Peshawar, the maximum temperature was 32°C, with evening relative humidity recorded at 65 percent.
